Shard Harte

If you had to describe yourself in one word what would it be?  Dynamic

5 things you are passionate about? People, Nature, Music, Movement, Ocean

What does Yoga mean to you? Union of the mind body and soul

How long has Yoga been apart of your life? 6 years

How did Yoga come into your life? At a time I was very stressed within my life. I started for the mental aspect in hope I would find some clarity within my thoughts.  There was a studio on my street. I went to classes every day for a month and watched myself change… It became my safe place, I never really stopped practicing. 6 years later and I still go for the same reason.

What was your first class like and what made you go to your second class? My first class was very strange and I wasn’t quite sure how to take it. I felt uncomfortable and self-conscious. I went back because I felt so calm in savasana and wanted more of that stillness in my life.

What is the posture you love the most?  Back bends and going upside down are my favourite things! Splits. Anything where I can really push my limits. Every practice is different so I probably couldnt pick one.

What is the posture you love the least? Standing Balances are very challenging for me – but I still love them. So are arm balances!

What is your teaching intention? To create a space where people can dive deeper into themselves and connect to their own unique flow. Yoga helped me become who I am so I want to give that same thing back to the people in my community. I love watching students learn something new and the energy we create as a group.

What are words your students would quote you by? … Inhale, Exhale… Ommm

Anything else you want to add? Yoga has guided me through my life and I am so incredibly grateful for the practice. It is a huge part of who I am and always will be. Namaste x
